Euphrasia/eyebright or geranium? My herbology isn’t quite that good. I like the busyness of the picture with all the other in focus leaves and blades of grass it tells the story of the flower living within the forest of greenery at ground level.

Pheasant in dappled light

The dappled light on this photo was what drew me to it out of the several sharper photos I got of a pheasant outside of my house. The neighbours probably thing I’m insane now they’ve seen me chasing down the bank with a camera and super-zoom.

A small amount of Darktable to keep the blues at the top and the reds at the bottom but otherwise just normal NEF to JPEG processing. It was a really glorious sunset taken hand held from a barn conversion we stayed at over the summer.

Summer Moon

The beautiful summer moon I managed to photograph hand held over the summer while on holiday in Shropshire. The sky was just light enough that the contrast didn’t need any editing and all I really did with this was crop it. I’m not sure how perfect it is as a photograph but something of it speaks to me of the warmer summer evenings and the enjoyment of a good holiday.

Pondering monkey business

I don’t usually find monkeys easy to photograph and I didn’t think this was a good shot initially. Something about the thoughtful look, blurred background and unusual angle kept bringing me back to this shot. Maybe he was planning an escape, or a Ponzi scheme
